The creative exploration of Sophie-Elizabeth is a calm natural subconscious response to the world around her. It reflects the essence of form found in both natural and man made objects and their physical relationship to each other in life. It is the details that inspire her, details of the whole, out of context, with specific references to delicate bone forms, industrial architecture; fluid forms and the neutral often ignored space between the objects. The creative process is defined by a steady series of instinctive decisions in the constant investigation of form and mark with the art revealing itself in a dynamic process, as the artist continually searches for the poetic and essential in an accidental fresh mark. “For me a work must first have a vitality of its own......a work can have in it a pent-up energy, an intense life of its own, independent of the object it may represent.” Henry Moore Individual sculptures and installations of groups of sculptures are created in almost any size to suit any international location. Working in different media, including plaster and clay to create pieces cast into small editions in bronze and resin as well as stone and unique pieces in ceramic stoneware.
